Stellum Capital and Inveready sign investment agreement in LEV2050 biotech company

- Stellum Food&Tech I, an investment vehicle of the private equity firm Stellum Capital, and Inveready Asset Management from its vehicle Inveready Biotech IV, have signed an agreement for the acquisition of 25% of the Navarre-based company Lev 2050 (Inbiolev, S.L.).
- The private equity funds have reached an agreement with the microorganism and yeast company to strengthen the company’s resources and boost its growth.
- Lev 2050 was founded in 2010 and is an industrial microbiology company specialized in the optimization of industrial processes involving the participation of microorganisms, mainly for companies in the agri-food sector.
Aizoain, March 26, 2024. –Stellum Food&Tech, an investment vehicle of the private equity firm Stellum Capital, and Inveready Asset Management from its vehicle Inveready Biotech IV have joined the shareholding of the Navarre-based industrial biotechnology company LEV 2050 to boost its growth. Specifically, they have acquired 25% of the company specialized in industrial microbiology and the design and manufacture of patented bioreactors to improve the production processes of companies in the agri-food sector.
Lev 2050, founded in 2010 by David García, is a company specialized in the development of microorganisms that facilitate the optimization of different production processes of companies in the agri-food sector. Para ello, además de contar con un equipo de I+D especializado en microbiología, se centran en el diseño y la fabricación de biorreactores y medios de cultivo patentados.
Currently, its main source of income comes from the wine sector, where it has 170 wineries as clients in different parts of the world: Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Argentina and Chile, among others. LEV2050 has a staff of 20 people, half of whom work in R&D, with a high level of innovative activity, resulting in several patents for highly differentiating products.
LEV2050 is also developing products in other agri-food sectors, promoting its solutions for biocontrol and biofertilization in the field, as well as carrying out projects for companies in the agricultural, bakery, meat and alternative protein sectors, among others.
According to David García, promoter and main shareholder, who will remain in the company, “the entry of Stellum Food &Tech and Inveready will allow us to approach the next stage of growth with partners with specific knowledge in the management of growing companies and specialized in our sector”.
For his part, Joaquín Senosiain, investment director of Stellum Food&Tech, points out that “LEV2050 stands out for the innovative component of its projects and the generation of value it develops for its clients’ businesses, which should be the pillars for the company’s next stage”.
Roger Piqué, partner of Inveready, indicates that “We were attracted to LEV2050 because it has been able to generate high-value services and products for the wine and agri-food sector based on a deep technical knowledge”.

LEV2050 is a biotechnological company from Navarra that, for the last 12 years, has become a leader in the design of pasteurizable and autoclavable bioreactors and in the industrial production of microorganisms.
